Zoom will be able to offer email to reinforce its growing empire

It would not be a shocking move. Zoom may be a ‘buzzworthy’ company now, but it knows that its popularity may fade as people (hopefully) return back to offices, and competing services like Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, which potentially earn more traction, and e-mail and other services can give you a reason to stay around, even long after the pandemic is over.

E-mail technology would aim for a “next generation” experience instead of simply replicating what it already knows, according to the sources. Both this and the calendar are in the early stages and are not guaranteed to be able to move forward. If ´leak´ is needed, Zoom hopes to create an entire platform where video calls, emails and productivity tools like messages work together. However, the company declined to comment.

The challenge, of course, is the size of your rivals. Gmail and Outlook are heavyweights in email, with giant user bases and tight integration with hosts from other services. Zoom has less experience with email than Google and Microsoft do with video calls – it is not guaranteed to win people over, even if your current app is part of the cultural zeitgeist of the year 2020.

In the end, Zoom was clearly one of the biggest technology winners of the year 2020 thanks to its accessible and easy video calls, and now it looks forward to translating that success elsewhere.

In summary, the sources of the information claim that Zoom is developing an e-mail service and considering a corresponding calendar application. We may see an offer for an email service “very soon” in 2021, according to tipsters. The company is reportedly exploring a calendar application, too.
