Yuba Cargo Bikes has launched a new entry-level electric cargo bike designed to appeal to a wider audience of customers.
The company manufactures electric cargo bikes to transport children or goods, which are handcrafted, and focused on safety and practicality.
The company’s latest electric cargo bike comes at a price of $ 3,200, and promises Yuba Kombi E5 An attempt by the company to target the most price-sensitive passengers.
And the electric cargo bike is powered by the Shimano E5000 STEPS mid-wheel drive system, which provides up to 20 mph of assistance.
The new bike includes a frame based on the original non-electric Kombi model released last year.
The Yuba Kombi E5 comes equipped with a watt-capacity Shimano battery and features Shimano Alivio hydraulic disc brakes.
The bike is also equipped to connect to the Shimano E-Tube Ride app, and display speed, power levels, flight distance and more via the rider’s smartphone.
The Yuba Kombi E5 has standard 24-inch wheels, which help reduce ride height slightly compared to the larger 26-inch wheels.
The company says the standard wheels provide a lower center of gravity to handle with confidence, as well as the Shimano Altus derailleur and Maxxis Hookworm tires.
Its steel frame can hold up to three passengers and up to 200kg of gross payload, and it can also be customized to transport people or equipment via several add-on options that fit either the Kombi or the Kombi E5.
The company has equipped the bike with fenders, buzzer, LED headlights and taillights and dual kickstand, and there is Yuba’s full line of charging related accessories that can be added to the electric bike.
When we launched Kombi in January of 2020, the idea was to create a high-quality cargo bike that combines the characteristics of the Boda Boda and Mundo models at an attractive price, said (Benjamin Sarrazin) Benjamin Sarrazin, CEO of Yuba Cargo Bikes.
He added: That bike was an immediate success, and we started designing a version for those seeking to enjoy the electric charging lifestyle for the same reasons, and the bike was previewed across retailers in Europe a few months ago, demand was strong, and we expect the same in North America.
It is reported that the Yuba Kombi E5 bike is not yet available, but it is supposed to arrive by March, as it comes in orange with silver accents or silver with orange accents.
