You can now set the book cover as your lock screen wallpaper on your Kindle.

Amazon finally added a feature that the Kindle probably should have had since launch. This new added feature is an option that allows you to set the cover of the book you are currently reading as your lock screen wallpaper.

The company is in the process of implementing the feature for Kindle owners worldwide and says it supports the covers of most books, magazines, comics and manga. Sure, it could have been from the beginning, but better late than never.

As long as you have a non-ad device (device without ads) you will be able to gain access to this feature. It is available on devices 8 and 10 of Kindle generation, devices 7 and 10 of Paperwhite generation, 8, 9 and 10 of generation Oasis and 7th generation Voyage.

If you’re not sure if your Kindle is compatible, Amazon has a handy list on your site. Either way, you’ll find the new option in the Kindle settings menu, with a “Show cover” toggle button enabling the feature.

We’ll also note here that you can pay $ 20 to remove lock screen ads from your device. Which can slightly hinder the number of people using this feature right away. But nothing too big in scale, just a small percentage.

Enable or not?

Of course, whether you want to enable the feature will depend on what you are currently reading. If you want to show the world your love for David Foster Wallace, then, without a doubt, show them that they are working through Infinite Jest.

But there will also be people who would prefer to disable the feature in some cases, to avoid embarrassment and future embarrassment. For example, some people may prefer to hide the fact that they are reading a novel like Fifty Shades of grey.

Anyway, the feature is now available, and you can activate it immediately. What should have happened since the kindle was released, so it is lagging behind in this regard. But the important thing is that this is a very simple, but very interesting feature.
