Windows 11 .. the first version of Windows without IE in 20 years

At some point in the life of Windows 10, you might have had Internet Explorer, the old version of Microsoft Edge, and the new Microsoft Edge running Windows 10. Chromium are installed.

The three browsers have been illustrating Microsoft’s struggles with the web over the past decade, but now that Microsoft has put an end to Internet Explorer in 2022, it has disappeared from Windows 11 as well.

The software giant revealed that the Internet Explorer browser is being disabled in Windows 11.

As part of Microsoft’s announcement of its new operating system, it listed features and applications that are removed when people upgrade to the new operating system.

A company spokesperson said: “The Internet Explorer 11 desktop app will not be available on Windows 11. Microsoft Edge is the recommended alternative and default browser for Windows 11.”

Added: The MSHTML engine is present as part of Windows 11 to run Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft announced in May that Internet Explorer would reach end of support on June 15, 2022 for certain versions of Windows 10.

Internet Explorer was not expected to appear in Windows 11. However, Microsoft has warned that the LTSC long-term service channel for Windows 10 will continue to include Internet Explorer next year, despite a plan to remove the consumer on June 15, 2022.

Windows 11 without Internet Explorer:

Windows 11 now removes the browser completely. And if you use shortcuts like iexplore, you will now be redirected to Microsoft Edge instead.

Microsoft Edge has Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) built in. You can access legacy Internet Explorer-based websites and applications directly from Microsoft Edge.

Users know that they are in IE mode where a small Internet Explorer icon appears in the address bar.

This marks the first time that Microsoft has not bundled Internet Explorer with a new version of its operating system in more than 20 years.

Service version 2.5 of Windows 95 in 1997 was the first time that Microsoft explicitly combined Internet Explorer into Windows Explorer and other major parts of Windows.

This compilation led to the United States’ antitrust fight against Microsoft just one year after Internet Explorer debuted in October 1997.

The new operating system includes a host of new and improved features that come with it. But some old features should be phased out to make way for new ones.

Cortana will no longer be included in the first boot experience or pinned to the taskbar. The desktop background cannot be roamed from or on the device when signed in with a Microsoft account.

The math entry panel has been removed. The math recognizer is installed on demand and includes math input and ID control.

Arithmetic inking in applications such as OneNote is not affected by this change. And the news and interests developed. A new functionality has been added that can be found by clicking on the widget icon on the taskbar.
