Microsoft has released a new preview version of Windows 11 Insider #22000.168 for the Dev and Beta channels. This build mainly contains fixes and updates plus a new “Microsoft 365” productivity widget and more language support in the Teams Chat feature built into the operating system.
The new Microsoft 365 widget is for business users who have logging into Azure Active Directory accounts with computers running Windows 11. This widget shows your frequently opened documents, company news and meeting recordings, and other work information relevant.
To test this new widget, Insiders need to open the widgets and click the “Add Widgets” button. Microsoft is also already testing several widgets for Windows 11, including one for Family (Security) and a News and Interests widget (Bing plus MSN).
As of today, Teams Chat supports several different languages. This Teams Chat feature on Windows 11 replaces the Skype Meet Now button and option. Teams Chat on Windows 11 aims to make Teams users experience the features that Microsoft has added to Teams and be able to use Teams in addition of the job settings.
Microsoft has also released an update to the Microsoft Store app for Windows 11 test users, starting with Dev Ring. The new version, 22108.1401.9.0, includes a “complete visual review” of the Library UI and a design update for the Spotlight feature for promoting products in the Store.
Microsoft is again emphasizing this week that now is the time for Insider testers who want to continue testing Windows 11 previews to move out of the Dev channel ring and into the Beta ring. Very soon, Microsoft will return to using the Dev channel to test “cutting edge” features that may or may not come as part of the operating system.
