Xiaomi’s flagship, Mi 11, had already been announced and launched in the Chinese market, however, the model – which starts line 11 – arrived yesterday in the European market, yesterday morning. The Mi 11 focuses its efforts on maintaining the revenue of the previous model but with incredible improvements in the screen, in the processing and even in the sound (thanks to a partnership with Harman Kardon).

This phone is the first to have the potential of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, the fastest processor ever developed by Qualcomm. Among several brands that will feature the CPU, Xiaomi was the first to “take a chance” and soon launch Qualcomm’s new premium line processor. Interesting times are ahead for both manufacturers. It is recalled that the Mi 10 was already in 15th place in the ranking of the Antutu Benchmark, where the Mi 10T 5G was in 10th. The new Mi 11 is currently in first place.

However, although the processor is important, another major highlight compared to its predecessor is the new screen. The Mi 11 has a 6.81 ″ AMOLED screen with a brightness of 1,500 nits and 10 bits of color, but the highlight is high resolution and performance. This panel has the ability to work with a refresh rate of 120 Hz (allowing more fluidity and less fatigue for the human eye) and an incredible maximum resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels protected by Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Victus range.

The Snapdragon 888 features a 25% higher performance, In case of processor and in the case of graphic chip, an 35% higher performance to the Snapdragon 865, used in the Mi 10. This time, Qualcomm’s 5G modem is already part of the processor, something that didn’t happen with the previous processor that needed an extra controller to access the 5G network.

The new Qualcomm combines, in its basic version, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM operated at 3,200 mHz – the latest innovation in the area of mobile RAM – in addition, thanks to the inclusion of the X60 modem in the processor, it is able to process LTE and 5G bands, as well as the promising Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2 and contactless technology, NFC – which has been so controversial among manufacturers. Contrary to what was done in other years, Xiaomi bet on launching a single equipment, where the options will be reduced to RAM and internal storage – it can reach up to 12GB of RAM and 256 of ROM UFS 3.1.

When it comes to photography and video, Xiaomi decided to simplify the formula this time. Instead of having four or five cameras as happened with the Xiaomi Mi 10 and the Mi Note 10. The Mi 11 includes a primary camera of 108 MP wide-angle, an ultra-wide camera of 13 MP and a camera (with dual functionality) of 5 MP telephoto and macro. On the other hand, the 20 MP front camera allows you to take incredible portrait photographs as was the case with the Mi 10.

According to data from DXOMARK, the previous Mi 10 Ultra was classified as the third best mobile phone in photography – 133 points -, in portrait photography, the score is lower (at the level of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G) – 88 points. There is still no specific data about the photographic performance of the Xiaomi Mi 11, however, you can expect the best. However, speculations aside, the most curious highlight should be the 5 MP telephoto and macro sensor.

Night mode works on almost all cameras, except with the telephoto lens. Since the camera supports 10 bits of color, night mode works on videos and supports HDR10 + capture, as well as a variety of other features aided by artificial intelligence. To power all of this, the model features a 4,600 mAh battery that will not let you down in terms of autonomy.

The Mi 11 is available in two colors at launch – Midnight Gray and Horizon Blue -, where the basic 128 GB model will cost € 749, while the 256 GB variant will cost € 799. In order to encourage the consumer, Xiaomi also offers a two-year warranty on the Mi 11 and a free repair of the screen if you drop the phone in the first year you own it. The Mi 11, contrary to the growing trend of abandoning the charger in the smartphone case, the model comes with a 55W transformer, so you won’t have to purchase it separately.
