The new Windows 10 update is designed to improve remote work

Begins The next major update (version 21H1) of Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system is accessing devices with a focus on Remote work scenarios are improved through changes such as the ability to use multiple Windows Hello cameras with one device.

This is especially useful for Surface devices that owners may want to connect to a monitor with an additional webcam while working from home.

Here are the full new features of Windows 10 May Update (version 21H1):

  • Windows Hello multi-camera support, with the default set as the external camera when there are both external and internal Windows Hello cameras.
  • Windows Defender Application Guard performance improvements, including improved document opening scenario times.
  • WMI’s GPSVC Group Policy Service updates performance optimization to support remote work scenarios.

Microsoft typically delivers a major major update to Windows 10 during the spring, with a smaller update in the fall.

The company has reversed this approach through 2021, so the update likely to arrive in October will be full of change.

The next major update includes new system icons, file explorer improvements, and even the end of the Windows 95-era icons.

Microsoft has some of the broader visual changes arriving in Windows 10, as part of the overall visual revamp of Windows.

The October update also fixes an issue with rearranging apps across multiple screens, adding the Xbox Auto HDR feature, and even improving support for audio over Bluetooth devices.

The May 2021 update is very small, and Microsoft uses a special enablement package so that features are hidden on the Windows 10 PC at the moment, and this update turns them on.

In terms of stopping, Microsoft has stopped the development of roaming customization settings, which allow the lock screen images, wallpaper and other personalization elements to be synchronized across devices, so that this feature remains stable from now on, and Microsoft also notes that it may be removed in a future release.

As always, Windows 10 May 2021 Update will be available via Windows Update, and Microsoft is rolling out this update in batches to ensure there are no compatibility issues.
