We have bad news for Spotify Premium subscribers. And for all plans. The music streaming service is raising prices for many of its plans in various regions, recording the largest number of changes in Europe. The new price increases are expected to take effect from April 30.

Spotify subscribers in the UK have started receiving emails alerting them to a variety of increases, as well as in other European countries.

The price of a Spotify Student subscription is increasing from £ 4.99 to £ 5.99 per month, while the price of a Duo plan is increasing from £ 12.99 to £ 13.99. Meanwhile, a Spotify Family plan is being raised from £ 14.99 to £ 16.99 per month.

Some countries in Europe have also received information on price increases. Spotify’s Student and Duo plans are increasing to € 5.99 and € 12.99 per month, respectively.

Family Spotify is seeing a more dramatic increase from € 14.99 to € 17.99 per month. Some countries in Asia and South America have been reported to see similar price increases soon.

“We offer a variety of subscription plans tailored to the needs of our users and occasionally update our prices to reflect local macroeconomic factors and meet market demands, offering unparalleled service,” said a spokesman for Spotify.

Apparently, Spotify subscribers affected by the price increases will have a one-month grace period before prices increase automatically. This means that existing subscribers are expected to see an increase during the June billing cycle.

Spotify has also raised the price of family plans in the U.S., but the service has not yet confirmed what the new prices will be. The price increases come in the wake of several updates that the service has made to its desktop and mobile applications.

In addition to redesigns, the company also unveiled a new mobile home screen to further personalize its experience.

What is the increase for Portugal?

Officially, Spotify has not yet reported a price increase for Portugal, but it must be taken into account that it is likely to happen. However, we do not yet have official figures.

We can look at other European countries and, we believe, the price should be the same. Thus, these should be the new price:

  • University – € 5.99
  • Premium Duo – € 12.99
  • Family – € 17.99
