Nearly two years after the release of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13, which included the original built-in dark mode at the system level, Snapchat, one of the most prominent social media applications in the world, introduced the dark mode feature for iOS users.
Snapchat began testing the dark mode theme via the app late last year with a small group of iOS users.
As of this week, Snap says it is bringing Dark Mode to more than 90 percent of its iOS user base, providing millions of users with access to the app’s interface that is less stressful to the eye.
Snapchat offers three different types of appearance modes for iOS users to choose from, with the first preserving the app’s dark theme regardless of the default iOS theme.
While the second mode preserves the light theme of the app, the third mode matches the iOS setting.
Snapchat users can try the new dark mode now with the following steps:
- Do Download The Snapchat application is up and running.
- Click on your account picture in the top right.
- Tap on the Settings button at the top right
- Select the theme
- Select either the Match System, Always Light, or Always Dark.
And if you use an Android device, Snap has made it clear that dark mode will be rolled out in the coming weeks and months.
And in the meantime, if you have an iPhone, take advantage of the new dark mode which makes the whole experience better in many ways, especially while chatting with someone and the white background causes your eyes to tire.

The report showed how popular the app is for Android users, as the overall Android user base continues to grow.
