Samsung artificial intelligence course starts tomorrow

Samsung Electronics’ new artificial intelligence course, held in partnership with NEW School of Science and Technology (FCT), starts tomorrow, July 25th and is part of the global Samsung Innovation Campus program.

The objective of this course, which is aimed at young adults, is to allow them to access knowledge of new technologies. As this is an area with a growing demand for professionals, it will improve your job prospects.

Cláudia Rodrigues, Head of Marketing & Communications at Samsung Portugal, says that the main purpose of the course is “to empower a generation of young adults, problem solvers, equipping them with future-proof skills and providing a practical understanding of the technologies that will shape its own path and contribute to the sustainable growth of the world”.

In turn, Virgílio Cruz Machado, NOVA director, highlighted that the course will better prepare future professionals and train the “technological leaders of the future”. He adds, “it is another step that the faculty takes in the sense of continuing to contribute to a training of excellence, and at the forefront of technological innovation”.

Artificial intelligence and modeling taught will have a concrete basis in Mathematics, namely in terms of probabilities, statistics and linear algebra. Students will also have access to machine learning tools.

The course will last six weeks, with a daily workload of four hours and will end on the 30th of July, followed by a project period, between the 30th of August and the 30th of September. The course will be fully supported by the company.

Since 2013, Samsung has focused on training young people around the world, promoting its programs in 30 countries, having already trained more than 110,000 people.
