Announced The Chinese company Oppo announced its latest smartphone in China, called the Oppo A55 5G, which comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset and a large capacity battery, just days after the release of OPPO A93 5G.
The Dimensity 700 chipset includes the powerful 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2 GHz.
The chip comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, and the company has provided the Oppo A55 5G phone with a microSD slot to expand the internal storage to up to 1 TB.
The device comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz.
The screen contains a water drop bump with an 8-megapixel front camera with f / 2.0 lens slot, supports NTSC color gamut by 71 percent, pixel density of 269 pixels per inch, 1500: 1 contrast ratio, and brightness of 480 nits.
There are three other cameras on the back with a 13-megapixel main lens with f / 2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f / 2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel Portrait lens with f / 2.4 aperture.
Given the limitations of the chipset, Oppo A55 5G records videos up to 1080p at 30 frames per second, while slow-motion videos are capped at 720p at 120 fps.
The phone contains a battery with a large capacity of 5000 mAh, but it does not support fast charging, but rather normal charging of 10 watts, There is a USB-C port on the bottom, next to the 3.5 mm audio port, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner inside the power button.
The phone comes in two colors, Rhythm Black and Brisk Blue, and works with the ColorOS 11.1 user interface based on Android 11.
The phone is currently offered for sale through OPPO’s distribution channels throughout China, including major online retailers, such as: Tmall and Suning, and it costs 1599 Chinese yuan, or about $ 245.
The phone may make its way to global markets in the coming days, as MediaTek 5G phones are launched outside China.
