OnePlus is a company that has taken the market by surprise since the first half of the past decade, with its high-quality smartphones and more affordable prices than some elements of the competition. About two years ago, he still managed to get his place in Formula 1 by entering into a sponsorship contract with the McLaren team.
The China-based company had plans to bring its own smartwatch to market a few years ago, but ended up discarding the idea in addition to other products to focus entirely on smartphones.
Pete Lau, the company’s CEO, recently posted a tweet questioning the OnePlus community about gadgets that could still be produced. The majority’s response was the smartwatch, and so the CEO responded to this feedback with a new tweet: “Many said they wanted a watch, and as they may have heard over the weekend (we are building one, which will be launched early next year)… ”.
Many of you said you wanted a watch, and as you might have heard over the weekend — we’re making one, to be released early next year. Wishes do come true.🎁 https://t.co/H1Fqv9srXj

Pete Lau thus confirmed the rumors that have been running for a few months about the brand. It now remains to be seen whether this future gadget will have the same round design as in the brand’s original plans, presented to the public by co-founder Carl Pei in 2016.
Since it is the OnePlus it is possible that this future smartwatch has a screen with AMOLED display, however it is not yet possible to know if it will have the fluid Iconic brand AMOLED. However, it is to be expected that it has OxygenOS, the brand’s modified Android operating system, except in the Chinese market where it will previously be equipped with HydrogenOS, the version of OxygenOS exclusive to the Chinese market.
The OnePlus smartwatch will arrive in the first months of 2021. Although we still don’t know the exact date or price, we can expect a more affordable price than most of the competition.
