Nintendo is lowering the price of its base console, Nintendo Switch is having a price reduction across Europe, a campaign that Nintendo is carrying out to try to sell as many units as possible before the launch of the new OLED version already in the next November.
The Nintendo Switch now has a special price of €299.99 in Europe, which represents a price reduction of €30 from the previous price of €329.99. In the UK, Nintendo has set the base model to a value of £259.99, down by £20 from the previous price of £279.99.
In some Nintendo online stores the price is already reflected. It can also be observed that we have already found the Nintendo Switch at this price (and even cheaper) on Amazon. Given the small changes, it is possible that one more price change will arise due to the fact that we are about a month before the launch of Nintendo’s OLED switch, or this price is just a reflection of the arrival of the new version of the Switch.
The OLED model will launch with a price of €364.99 in Europe and £309.99 in the UK. This small price drop will create a slightly larger price difference between the OLED models and the originals, while the OLED version is more about screen changes than any significant hardware upgrades elsewhere.
Nintendo’s Switch OLED console will hit stores on October 8th, and during the first look at the console, it was possible to see that a small update made a big difference. A bigger, brighter screen, new support and speaker enhancements are key additions, along with an Ethernet port on the dock.
