McLaren unveils its Artura hybrid

McLaren has been in the light and fast supercar industry for nearly 60 years, but the company hasn’t put one of its HPH designs into full production until 2021.

The powertrain is powered by a new McLaren V6 ICE twin-turbo engine that produces 577 hp and 584 Nm of torque.

The engine, dubbed the M630, can save 50 kg in weight and a few inches in length compared to the company’s conventional V8.

It is paired with an axial flow E engine of 94 hp and 225 Nm, which can propel the Artura up to 30 km on electric power alone or work in unison with the V6 to achieve 0-100 km / h acceleration in 3.0 seconds, with a controlled top speed. It is 330 kilometers per hour.

Artura also offers a host of ADAS features as well, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Road Signal Recognition, and more features could be added in the future as Artura allows for aerodynamic software updates. .

The new McLaren plug-in hybrid is expected to arrive later this year after launching in the third quarter.
