Lamborghini launch teaser of the new model Squadra Corse

It is unclear where Lambo intends to race with this vehicle, with an air intake mounted on the roof and with a large wing. The company currently builds the Huracan for the international competition of the GT3 class and the Super Trofeo for the unique series of the construction company. Since there is no need to adhere to any specific rules, the brand event itself will be the most likely because Squadra Corse can create whatever it wants.

Squadra Corse is the Lamborghini division responsible for the brand’s racing activities and has news on the way. It appears to be a heavily modified Huracan with some wild body ready for the track. The teaser doesn’t reveal much. Squadra Corse confirms that this is its “newest motorsport car” and promises “an unprecedented experience”.

The ´Huracan revised´ has narrow headlights and minimalist taillights. The fenders are wide and there are openings at the top of the rear. A shell mounted on the roof directs air to the engine compartment, and a huge wing is at the rear and a giant diffuser also helps to control the air flow.

In early April, Squadra Corse celebrated the construction of its 400th Huracan race car. The Super Trofeo version of the machine debuted in 2014, and the GT3 entered the scene in 2015. Along the way, the model won three consecutive victories in the 24 Hours of Daytona and two victories in the 12 Hours of Sebring. The existing Super Trofeo has about 70 percent in common with a road Huracan. The changes include the installation of a sequential gearbox, aerodynamics adjustments and changes to the engine management system.

Squadra Corse also worked on the Huracan Super Trofeo Omologata (pictured above), which is a road version of the race car. Uses carbon fiber in more than 75 percent of the body, which helps the model weigh 43 pounds less than a Huracan Performance. The revised external parts make 53% more “downforce” than a Performance.

The engine is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10, with 630 horsepower (470 kilowatts) and 417 pound-feet (565 Newton-meters). Brembo CCM-R carbon-ceramic brakes slow the machine. The cost for this performance is $ 327,838 (about € 271,277).
