Honor has just announced that its next Magic 3 series will utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 Plus processor. This processor was announced today by the company, as part of MWC 2021, being one of the most powerful processors on the market and replacing the Snapdragon 888 in the hierarchy.
During the event, Qualcomm did not mention which smartphones would have the new processor from the manufacturer, as is normal, however there were some brands attending the event, including Honor that did not mention which smartphone would bring the new processor, but soon it was realized that it would be the new Magic 3, because there were already rumors in that direction. However, later on officially confirmed.
if you don’t remember this Honor Magic range, it’s usually not the manufacturer’s top-of-the-range, but they also end up launching innovative technologies in these equipment, as you can see when researching the predecessor models. It is true that Honor has already announced its Honor 50, the new top of the range will arrive in Europe with Google Mobile Services and also with Qualcomm processors.
In any case, the Magic 3 series will obviously become HONOR’s flagship series. HONOR was expected to announce at least one HONOR 50 smartphone with a state-of-the-art SoC, but that didn’t happen, so it will be the Magic Series to take a stand in that direction. You will soon come to realize that the Magic series will be like before, launching some innovative concepts, but with limited stock availability, or if it will even be the manufacturer’s top range, after the new strategy designed after the brand was sold by Huawei.
The Magic 3 series will change things, however. Now, there are rumors that HONOR announces its first collapsible smartphone this year, and it is rumored to have the ‘Magic’ branding on it.
The company has not yet confirmed this information, so we cannot be sure. There is not much information about the next smartphones, and it is not known when the products will reach the market, but there is no doubt that we are curious, as the Honor brand was on an excellent path under the purview of Huawei, so with the separation we will have to wait a little longer to understand how the brand will remain in the market.
At this point, we can only assume, as no Magic 3 devices have been released so far. We hope that more information will appear online in the near future, to give us a hint of what to expect in August, when you’ve been told could be the announcement.
One thing is for sure, the Magic 3 series will be really powerful. Snapdragon 888 Plus is not a big improvement over Snapdragon 888, but it is still an improvement. It is Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset to date.
