According to some reports that have emerged in the past few days, Google will be developing its own chip to equip your next Pixel 6. However, these rumors are nothing new since they had already appeared in 2020 and these newer ones seem to be actually more credible.

According to 9to5Google site, that processor was actually visualized having the code name Whitechapel and will equip the Pixel models to be launched next autumn.

According to some previous reports, they point out that the Witechapel may turn out to be a processor for smartphones and Chromebooks, and that Google has been working in partnership with Samsung to develop this chip. According to an article published by 9to5Google site, a link to Exynos processors from the South Korean manufacturer Samsung is highlighted, and it is also being developed with Samsung’s semi-conductor division for large-scale production.

There are several code names assigned to that processor as indicated by the 9to5Google. This one site speculates a little and risks saying that the initials that emerged in relation to the designation of the chip GS, refers to Google Silicon. Another code name also came up, Slider was the word revealed and that the 9to5Google believes it is a sharing platform for this first processor of the brand, given that this designation is connected to other projects.

In any event, Google has already refused to make any comments when confronted by the Engadget but given the company’s history and the existing code name reinforced by a whole set of rumors, we will therefore have to give some importance to such information.

We already have some tech giants already choosing to produce their own processors, companies like Samsung, Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi are already quite solid with their chips so it won’t be a surprise if Google decides to follow suit.
