We are all used to searching for celebrities in the famous Google search engine, and when you search for a known figure, Google search engine usually shows an information card in the results, as this card collects information from reliable sources and presents it in an easy-to-understand format. But what happens when you search for yourself? Unless you are a celebrity, all you will come across are some social media profiles or random mentions of other people with the same name, but now you can change that.
Announced a company Google for a new feature that allows you to convert yourself to a Google search result, where you can now create your own (people card) with information about your name, job, location, work experience, phone number, email address and more.
Google wrote in Share on her blog: “It’s like a virtual visiting card, where you can highlight the current website or social profiles that you want people to visit, as well as other information about you that you want others to know.”
It is very easy to create a people card for yourself, so all you have to do is log in to your Google account and simply search for your name or type (add me to Search) in the search bar. Google says: “The more information you provide, the easier it becomes for you. People find you ”.
Once the people card becomes available to a person, you will see that the card includes the person’s name, profession and location, and you can click on this visible panel to see the person’s default card, and you will also see multiple cards for people who share the same name.
Only one person card can be created for each Google account, a phone number is required for account authentication, and if you wish to de-list yourself, you can delete your people card at any time. Google says it also has a number of mechanisms to protect people from abuse or spam, however, the company has not detailed these measures.
People cards are now rolling out in India, and will only be available in English for now, and there is no information on when this feature will be rolled out in other parts of the world.
