The appearance of Apple Watch with resources to monitor blood sugar levels is, for now, rumors that are gaining credibility thanks to the agreement between Apple and the UK health technology company Rockley Photonics.

As the Telegraph and Forbes reported, Rockley Photonics recently confirmed in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing that Apple has been its biggest customer for the past two years, and there have been negotiations to develop future products.

The company, a maker of sensors that track blood glucose, pressure and even alcohol levels, has hinted that at least one of these features may be available in the future Apple Watch.

In carrying out, it will be a great contribution for diabetics. So far, Apple’s support for diabetics has been limited to making third-party monitors available in its stores.

What is certain is that Apple has not been afraid to focus Apple Watch on health. However, there is a lot of industry interested in developing more comfortable sensors for measuring blood sugar and, above all, forgo the use of needles.

For the iPhone maker, however, there are other factors to take into account such as battery life and price, and it is expected that it will take some time for these features to be available, even if the technology is already ready.
