Getting the latest news is always good news for smartphones, as Apple fans are already used to it, unlike Android smartphone owners. However, even so, sometimes updating as soon as it becomes available is not always good, as there may be problems related to some applications, although Apple gives a few months of testing to get everything working. However, Apple made a different decision than usual.

Apple’s announcement of iOS 15 brought a new change that is officially reflected in Apple’s software update pages. How does the MacRumors, the current iOS 14 will now allow you to choose whether you want to upgrade to iOS 15 as soon as it is released or stay on iOS 14. That was already possible, of course, but this time Apple ensures it will continue to ship important security patches to users .

iOS now offers a choice between two software update versions in the Settings app. You can upgrade to the latest version of iOS 15 as soon as it’s released and enjoy the latest features and the most complete set of security updates. Or stay on iOS 14 and still get important security updates until you’re ready to upgrade to the next major version.

Apple reiterates that the latest firmware will have the “most complete set of security updates” while the older version “will still get important security updates.”

Historically, Apple has always been adamant about iOS updates, preventing iOS devices from downgrading to a previous update. This ensured that the devices remained with the latest firmware.

This new change gives customers time to update applications, particularly if there are application restrictions or iOS device requirements that are managed by an organization such as businesses and schools.

iOS 15 has as one of the highlights an improved FaceTime that will feature Spatial audio, voice isolation and a new grid view. There will also be FaceTime links that can help you schedule calls, even with people on Android and Windows 10 PCs. Other features include a portrait mode that will blur the background and a SharePlay feature that will allow the user to watch or listen to the same show. TV, movie or music at the same time with other users.

The Messaging app is also receiving several updates, such as a “Share” feature that will track shared content within message threads. This will work with photos, stories in the Apple News app, as well as playlists and shows on Apple Music and Apple TV. You can find out all the news for iOS 15 here. Also make sure your iPhone or iPod is compatible with the latest version of iOS, or you’ll need to stay on iOS 14.
