The Apple Fitness+ subscription exercise service is very close to receiving a new update that will make group training easier. This new feature will be called Group Workouts (Group Training). In addition, the application will also receive Pilates training, meditation sessions and even preparation training for winter sports (such as Skiing and Snowboarding).
O Group Workouts will work based on Apple SharePlay, one of the new features introduced with iOS 15. The new SharePlay will allow users of US-branded devices to watch a video together with others while making a call.
The new functionality of Apple Fitness Plus will not only allow the user to train together with one or more friends, but also with groups of up to 32 members. Training can be done through a FaceTime call or in iMessenger. The training screen will include the coach’s video and all other session participants. Unfortunately for the more introverted, Apple hasn’t said anything about being able to interrupt our camera’s streaming. The functionality will also give access to the training statistics of the other participants in that session, being possible to consult the training rings and the burned calories bar (Burn Bar) of each.
Apple will also provide access to this app in 15 more countries, with Portugal, Brazil and Spain included in this new list. For now, the training will continue only available in English, but subtitles will also be available in six languages, including Portuguese.
The new operating system will also add a new app to Apple Watch. The Mindfulness application will be compatible with new meditation trainings and will include audio versions of this type of training.
Group Workouts and support for new countries will not arrive until the end of the fall, as Apple has already stated that SharePlay will not be present with the release of iOS 15. However, all other features described will be released by the end of September.
