It was recently reported that an Apple battery has been certified in South Korea. design and the specifications released, everything suggests that the same battery could be incorporated in the future Macbook Air 13 ″, the first model in the series with ARM architecture.

We can check by the following images, the 2020 Macbook Air in the photo on the left and the new battery on the right.

Apple used its keynote at WWDC to announce to the world its plans for the transition to the new “Macs”, with processors built by the brand itself but using the ARM architecture – also implying that these models could be launched later this year.

Battery certification was first detected by the user @yabhishekhd on the social network Twitter and reported on the 91 Mobiles website:

“A MacBook Air battery with model number A2389 has received the Safety Korea certification this week. The same battery model with a capacity of 4,380mAh was spotted a few days ago on 3C and UL Demko certifications. At the time, the battery was speculated to be for the MacBook rather than an iPhone or iPad due to the voltage. Now, live image of the battery on the Safety Korea site confirms that it is indeed for an upcoming MacBook Air. ”

We can see that the battery will have 11.9V, 49.9W and a capacity of 4380mAh. It is in fact a perfect match with that found on the current Macbook Air 2020.

Of course, there is no absolute certainty at this point to confirm whether the Macbook Air in question will be an Inter or ARM model. But according to what the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted, the first Mac device with ARM architecture will be a 13 ″ or even 14 ″ model, Pro version.

The latest version of the Macbook Air was launched in March this year, with the new keyboard model, entry-level finally with a 256GB capacity SSD and a very significant improvement in the equipment’s performance. Thus, in the new model and with this battery, the introduction of an ARM processor may mean greater energy efficiency and expect a significant increase in terms of battery life.
