Display specialist AOC expands its portable display portfolio with new I1601P. Portable displays are an easy solution for extending a single monitor setup to a multiple monitor setup, whether on the go, at work or even in a small home office.
O I1601P 15.6” (39.5cm) is compact and similar in size to portable computer displays. O I1601P features Full HD resolution and IPS panel technology to deliver vivid colors, sharpness, and wide viewing angles (170/170°). It can be connected either via USB-A or USB-C, all thanks to the single cable solution (cable included in the box).
Whether working from home or in an office, a second monitor increases productivity by effectively doubling the screen’s functional space. For many, it has become obvious that working on a single monitor, such as on a laptop, constrains workflows by causing clutter and overwhelming available space.
This also applies when working on the move. Users accustomed to operating with two monitors on their office desk will demand the same increase in productivity whether on the road, on the train, on a plane, or even in the field.
AOC’s portable monitors are a great lifesaver in these cases. Its portfolio includes many options: the I1601FWUX, for example, offers a 15.6” portable display with USB-C connectivity, while the I1659FWUX offers a similar panel with USB DisplayLink technology using the USB-A input.
The new I1601P combines the best of both worlds, thanks to the one-cable hybrid solution. For notebooks and USB-C equipped devices, the 1601P can be easily connected via a single USB-C cable. The connection will power the monitor and transfer the video signal via USB DisplayPort Alternate mode.
Although USB-C technology is becoming more common, there are older laptops and devices that still don’t have it. In that case, DisplayLink technology transfers the video signal via the normal USB-A input, also providing this instant productivity boost across a variety of older and newer devices. DisplayLink drivers can be downloaded for various operating systems including Windows, macOS, Android, ChromeOS and Ubuntu.
Flexible use on older or more modern computers makes it possible to enjoy the I1601P in the most diverse scenarios. In businesses and homes where some devices may have USB-C and some only USB-A, the I1601P ensures display extension. The added benefit of a secondary screen is huge: one monitor can display the email box, while the other shows a Word document or spreadsheet. Or you can watch a video on one monitor and take notes on the other. It depends on each one’s imagination!
Take it anywhere safely
The I1601P’s design is minimalist, with a gray aluminum back and slim black bezels on the front. The included SmartCase protects the display from scratches when being transported, also functioning as a folding stand. Weighing just 800g, it’s light enough to be carried in a bag or backpack on a plane or train, or on the daily commute to work.
The AOC I1601P employs a 15.6” IPS panel with 1920×1080 resolution, and features a 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms GtG response time. With a brightness level of 220 nits and an anti-reflective coating, it can be used in most common lighting conditions. LowBlue technology can be activated to reduce the potentially harmful blue wavelength. The I1601P can also be used in landscape and portrait modes. It is possible to access the OSD through the physical buttons and also through the software i-Menu, where the Auto-Pivot function can be activated.
The AOC I1601P will be available from august 2021 for a PVP of €239.
